ABOUT ME
Born and raised in Camarillo, California to my amazing parents, Judy and Steve Kuge, I grew up an only child who first learned to walk and talk while my parents served others in our small sushi restaurant. My passion for medicine began early, as I witnessed my mother suffering unbearable pain from complications after her complete hysterectomy. Seeing the physicians in the Emergency Department tend to my mom in an efficient and calm manner initially sparked my interest in pursuing medicine.

I completed my Bachelors of Science degree in Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara (Go Gauchos!) in 2016, and soon began working as an Emergency Medicine scribe at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, California. As a scribe, I was able to watch as the physicians actively saved patient's lives, provided care for the underserved community, and stayed humble and calm despite the chaos of the Emergency Department. I recognized that in the ED, a widespread knowledge of many specialties was needed to treat the patients, something which fascinated me. I also realized that while primary care physicians are in great need, I personally prosper in the high-paced, active environment of the emergency department. Over the last four years, I have cultivated my desire to become an Emergency Medicine Physician, and have carried this aspiration with me until today. Now in my fourth and final year as an osteopathic medical student on the Colorado campus of Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine, I could not be more excited to see where my journey will take me next! Thank you for taking the time to visit my page!
A couple of my last days as an Emergency Medical Scribe. Dr. Canby and some of the nurses indulged me in getting a funny picture for my memory box.
